Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
- Keystroke & Tap Events: Captured in memory only, to evaluate mappings.
- Keyboard Information: Details about the keyboards attached to your Mac, which lets you create mappings and activate interception on the one you've selected.
- Mapping Profiles: Your custom mapping configurations, stored locally or in any exported file.
2. How We Use Information
- Real-time Mapping: All captured events are used just to trigger or block mappings.
- No Storage of Keystrokes: We do not save keypress data on disk or send it to servers.
- Profile Management: Profiles live locally; only you control export/share actions.
3. Permissions
Input Monitoring & Accessibility: Used only to intercept and simulate keystrokes for mapping logic.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not share your data with any third parties. All keystroke events and mapping profiles remain strictly on your device, unless you choose to export and distribute a profile file yourself.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical safeguards to keep your mapping profiles private and ensure keystroke events are processed safely in memory.
6. Data Retention
- Keystroke Events: Never persisted; exist only while the App is active.
- Mapping Profiles: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete them.
7. Your Rights
- View & Edit Profiles: Do that directly in the App at any time.
- Revoke Permissions: You can revoke Input Monitoring or Accessibility in macOS System Settings; this will disable mapping functionality.
8. Children's Privacy
iKeyMapper does not collect personal data of any kind. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy; the "Effective Date" will reflect the change. Continued use constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
